Chelsea did some heavy investments in transfers during the summer transfer window, as the club spent over £200m on new signings.

Chelsea’s new signings have struggled to keep up with the Premier League, especially Timo Werner and Kai Havertz who cost the club £47m and £70m respectively.

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has named the two Chelsea stars as the biggest flops of the season.

Asked to name the biggest flops this season, Micah Richards told MailSport: “Sadly, it’s a toss-up between two Chelsea players – Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

“I could not have been more complimentary about Werner when he signed last summer and I was expecting massive things from him, after watching him for RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

“It just hasn’t happened for him but the same is also true of Havertz. I hope both of them learn from this difficult season and come back to show their true potential.”
