Former West Ham star Paolo Di Canio has slammed both the performance and attitude of Timo Werner in the game against Real Madrid.
Chelsea played out a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium on Tuesday night, and the Blues could have gotten a more comfortable win, had Timo Werner taken his chances.
Di Canio wasn’t only critical of the German’s missed chance against Real Madrid, but he was also disappointed with his attitude as well.
“The attitude was wrong, it’s not a finish you expect from an important player,” Di Canio told Sky Sport Italia.
“It seemed he was playing a game with his friends,” he added.
“Sometimes his teammates could have served him a little better, but his movements were not convincing and often he was not in the right position. Werner is very fast, but he is too frenetic too.”
