Chelsea are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League after a 2-1 aggregate win over Porto.
Chelsea had won the first leg 2-0 and needed to avoid losing by the same scoreline to go through to the semis.
Everything was going to plan until a late Mehdi Taremi’s overhead kick stunned the Chelsea defence and Edouard Mendy.
Former Chelsea star Joe Cole hailed the team’s effort, and said that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel chose a team that would deliver the goods.
“It’s been a long time coming for Chelsea,” Joe Cole told BT Sport after the match.
“It was business like this evening. Tuchel picked a team to get the job done.
“I thought Kante was the bright spark, I thought he held it together in there. They just left it too late, Porto.
“The goal was outstanding but it was the only thing that kept us awake, it was quite poor. Standard-wise it wasn’t good.”
