Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has since lost his shirt to summer signing Edouard Mendy, following his move to Chelsea from Rennes back in September.

The Spaniard leaked in a lot of goals under former boss Frank Lampard, and Lampard decided he had seen enough, as he bought a new goalkeeper in his second season.

Kepa who was signed for a record £70m is now now second choice goalkeeper at the club, but he has impressed in the few games he has played this season under Thomas Tuchel.

Kepa has kept a clean sheet in games against Barnsley, Newcastle, Sheffield United, Manchester City and Brighton, and Tuchel seems to have shown him a level trust.

Meanwhile, Mendy is happy with the competition in the goalkeeper area, and has revealed that he has a good relationship with the Spaniard.

“There is a very high level in the group. Kepa has played some matches recently and they went well. I was happy for him, and the team. It says he is ready, too. I am happy for the team above everyone,” Mendy told the club’s official website.

“My relationship with Kepa is good, like my relationship with Willy. We work together, we play for the same team, the same shirt. We need to stay together, and we push each other in the training ground.”
