Saturday afternoon was a disastrous day Thomas Tuchel won’t forget in a hurry. After 14 games without tasting defeat, and conceding just twice, Thomas Tuchel was brought down to reality, as his side were hammered 5-2 by a relegation-threatened West Brom at Stamford Bridge.
Many wondered how Chelsea were going to react, with the next game coming up in the Champions League quarter-final.
However, Chelsea did well to beat Porto 2-0 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Wednesday night, and the Blues clearly put Saturday’s disaster behind them.
Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison believes that Chelsea answered their critics pretty well.
“It was a very good, professional performance from Chelsea,” Clinton Morrison told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“A lot of people were questioning how they would respond after that defeat by West Brom – and they responded excellently.
“Thomas Tuchel made changes but the players that came in have done the job. Two fantastic goals and even late in the game, they were still trying to get forward and score that second goal.
“I think Chelsea are done now and this second leg should be comfortable as well.”
