Speaking before the Champions League quarter-final clash against Chelsea, Porto manager Sérgio Conceição had admitted that his side were going to make things difficult for the Blues.
Porto had tried to take advantage of their underdog status in their press briefing, with former Real Madrid defender Pepe, also doing same while speaking to the press.
However, Chelsea ended up winning the game 2-0, but it was far from an easy night at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
Porto made life difficult for Chelsea in the first half, but the team’s quality shone through at the end, and Chelsea went home with a two-goal lead.
Speaking after the game, Porto boss Sérgio Conceição insisted that his team didn’t deserve to lose the game.
He told the media: “It was a good game on our part. We are not happy and we are not deserved to be at a disadvantage in the tie. We had personality and character, but we are playing games at the highest level.”
Sérgio Conceição still harbours hope heading into the second leg and believes that his side can come out victorious.
He added: “We believe. From what we already knew before and much more after this game.”
