Real Madrid were given a run for their money when they hosted Chelsea at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium on Tuesday night.
Chelsea had taken the lead through Christian Pulisic, but a stunner from Karim Benzema levelled the scores before half-time, and the game ended 1-1.
N’Golo Kante was one of the best players on the pitch, and he just seem to cut off the Madrid attacking flow.
The Chelsea midfielder was involved in more duels (21) and completed more dribbles (6) than anyone else on the pitch, and he was deservedly named man of the match.
Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has admitted that Kante caused his team too many problems.
“N’Golo? He was a nuisance, that’s clear,” Raphael Varane told RMC Sport in his post-match interview after the game.
“At this stage of the season, physicality is a determining factor, and it’s true that he runs a lot [laughs].
“He caused us a lot of problems, he managed to break the lines, he also has this ability to recover balls.
“We know the quality of this team, and he is one of their strengths.”
