Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is in buoyant mood ahead of the FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester City.

Manchester City are in top form this season, and are in the final stages of four different competitions. They are top of the league and expected to win it this season, with 11 points separating them and second-place Manchester United. City are in the final of the League Cup, and the semi-finals of the FA Cup and Champions League.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has hailed the quality of the Manchester City team, and hailed the Citizens and Bayern Munich as the benchmark in Europe.

However, after showing respect to City, Tuchel warned that from the first day of next season, Chelsea will fight for the title.

Tuchel said: “In Europe, for me there are two teams that are the benchmark: Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

“We have to accept there is a gap between us and Manchester City. If you look at the fixtures in the last few years we have to accept it, but without making us feel too small.

“From day one of next season we will hunt them and try to close the gap.”
