Chelsea and Brighton played out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The Blues were lucky to leave the game with a point, as the away side threatened to score towards the end of the game, and were the better side in the second half.
Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revealed his disappointment with the result and was also disappointed that Chelsea missed yet another huge chance to take advantage of their neighbour’s slip in the race for a top four finish.
Liverpool and West Ham had dropped points, and a win would have taken Chelsea to third spot, and the Blues boss admitted he was disappointed and worried.
Tuchel said: “We are disappointed. We wanted to have the win and know how crucial these moments are. We wanted to be in a place number three after this game.
“We did not make it and were lucky not to lose. We made big mistakes, looked tired, mentally tired. We did not deserve to win which is maybe for the first time since I come here.
“We missed now two opportunities in home matches (Chelsea lost to West Brom earlier in the month), this worries me a little bit. but we have to keep on going.”
