Barely two days after agreeing to join the European Super League, Chelsea have decided to opt out of the competition following protest from fans.
The Blues were the first to pull out from the controversial European Super League after owner Roman Abramovich directed the club to pull.
Following Chelsea’s decision to withdraw from the European Super League, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted: “The decision by Chelsea and Manchester City is – if confirmed – absolutely the right one and I commend them for it.
“I hope the other clubs involved in the European Super League will follow their lead.”
