According to Teamtalk, West Ham are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa.

Barkley’s loan spell at Aston Villa haven’t gone to plan as the England defender has gone from being a guaranteed starter at the start of the season to being a player that sits on the bench in recent weeks.

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith isn’t happy with Barkley’s recent form off-the-field antics and is reportedly no longer interested in signing the midfielder permanently.

However, Moyes is apparently willing to take a punt on the 27-year-old and the potential of joining the Hammers reportedly appeals to Barkley.

Moyes gave Barkley his Everton debut back in 2011 and is reportedly keen on working with the midfielder again at West Ham.
