Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will be happy with Chelsea’s humiliating 5-2 defeat to West Brom on Saturday because the result ensured his Premier League record is intact.

Saturday’s shock 5-2 loss at home to West Brom ended Thomas Tuchel’s unbeaten record as Blues manager.

Sarri holds the record for manager with the best Premier League start. Sarri, who was appointed at Stamford Bridge in 2018, went 12 matches undefeated.

Tuchel ultimately finished his impressive start at six wins and four draws including victories away at Liverpool and Tottenham.

Chelsea had also conceded just twice in Tuchel’s first 14 games before our unbeaten stint came to an end to West Brom.

However, while Sarri holds the record for best Premier League start, Tuchel still boast the best start of any Chelsea manager in all competitions at 14 games.
