Chelsea beat Porto 2-0 in the first-leg of our Champions League quarter-final clash and ahead of Tuesday’s second-leg, the Portuguese side should be worried.
After conceding two away goals to Chelsea, Porto must score three goals against a solid Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea defence to have any chance of progressing to the semi-finals.
Ahead of tonight’s game, history is against Porto. Only once in the history of the Champions League has a team lost 2-0 at home in the first leg of a knockout tie and progressed.
The only team to achieve that was Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit to stun PSG 3-1 at the Parc des Princes during their last-16 encounter in 2018-19.
The Red Devils are the only team in Champions League history to have achieved that feat in 18 attempts.
The Blues are heavy favourites to progress to the semi-finals.
