Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has hailed the display of his team against Chelsea, as he revealed that managing the minutes haven’t been easy.
With Madrid fighting for the Spanish league and Champions League, Real Madrid are also battling injuries at this time of the season.
Zidane has vowed to manage his players until the end of the season.
“Managing the minutes is clear,” he said. “We have a game on Saturday and we have to be physically fit because it will be a difficult game.
“I am very proud of my players. We know the quality we have, that we can do good things.
“It is not easy, because when we play every three days it costs us, but we believe that we can win and that is what we are going to try to do in the second leg, because we are going to try to win.
“It is not easy to win a Champions League semi-final against a very good opponent.
“We suffer, but we are on the right track. We are not going to score three or four goals in every game.”
Zidane is also keen to have his captain Sergio Ramos ready for the second leg against Chelsea, and also his other injured stars.
“I hope he is with us. Sergio has not yet trained with the team,” he said. “We are waiting for him to return, hopefully he can be there as soon as possible, but not only him, all of them.
“Lucas [Vazquez], Ferland [Mendy], Fede [Valverde]. All the players. I want the players with me.”
