Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel made 7 changes to his team that faced Arsenal on Wednesday, and it backfired as the Blues were beaten 1-0 by the Gunners at Stamford Bridge.
A Jorginho error led to Chelsea conceding a goal in the 16th minute, but prior to that, Kai Havertz had missed a glittering chance in the game.
Chelsea hit the bar twice in the game and were unable to score against the Gunners, and ended up losing the game 1-0.
Speaking after the game, former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole admitted that players missing chances have been a recurring thing for the Blues this season under Thomas Tuchel and even former boss Frank Lampard.
“They did [have chances]. I think if Havertz takes his chance, it’s a totally different game,” the Chelsea left-back said.
“He has to score there. He showed glimpses of magic in the past games but there he has to finish.
“It’s just one of them games, a lot of players had an off day at the wrong time today. It happens.
“They’ve got to regroup, go again, find that energy and that intensity in the next game and make sure they take their chances because that’s been the problem with Chelsea this season.”
