Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was named the UEFA Player of the Match as Chelsea beat Real Madrid 2-0 on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.

The French midfielder played a big role in Chelsea’s first goal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insists the Blues deserved to beat Real Madrid.

Tuchel told BT Sport: “We deserved to win.

“The first half was difficult because they had a lot of possession and made us suffer, but every ball from us was dangerous.

“We never lost the hunger, the desire to defend.

“In the second half we had even better structure to defend and it was a fantastic performance.

“We could have scored so much earlier and more to be safe, but it’s no time for criticism now. It’s a fantastic achievement; big congratulations to the team.”
