According to Metro UK, Chelsea are set to announce a contract extension for Thiago Silva in the coming days.
The Brazilian joined Chelsea as a free agent in the summer after leaving French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Silva joined Chelsea on a one year contract. However, his contract includes the option of a 12-month extension clause that requires both parties to agree in order for it to be activated.
Silva started Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League final on Saturday night but had to be substituted just before half-time due to injury.
