It has so far been a wonderful year for Chelsea FC, as the men and women’s team have been flying in high colours.

Over the weekend, Chelsea beat Reading 5-0 on the final day of the Women’s Super League season to claim their fourth title, the most a club has ever won in the competition. The Chelsea women will also face Barcelona in the final of the Women’s Champions League.

For the men, the Blues are set to finish in the top four of the Premier League, are in the final of the FA Cup and also the final of the Champions League.

Former Chelsea forward, and current Aston Villa director of football, Eniola Aluko, has hailed what the Chelsea team has achieved this year.

The Women’s FA Cup is also yet to be decided, and asked if her former side could win the Quadruple, Aluko said: “Absolutely. They turn up to win, there’s no other option, really, that’s the mentality in that dressing room.

“You see that on the men’s side as well, they want to win and there’s no compromise to that.

“Having the men’s team and the women’s team both in the Champions League final is testimony I think to the club’s support over a long period of time.

“If that’s not a statement to every single owner about women’s football, I don’t know what is.”
