Former Chelsea left-back Wayne Bridge believes Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has a massive potential and can become an important Chelsea player in future.
“I think Billy can be an important player in the future, he’s still so young and I’ve always rated him,” Bridge told bettingexpert.com.
“It’s tough being at Chelsea because they could buy so many players in his position but he’s definitely got the quality.
“He’s 19 so he still has loads of time at Chelsea. He’s playing in one of the biggest teams in the Premier League and still has a chance of making it there and being a big part of the team.”
Asked whether Gilmour can take inspiration from the success of Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden, Bridge added: “Definitely, the way that Pep Guardiola has brought him through has been brilliant and you definitely have to be patient.
“It’s tough as a footballer because you want to play every match and it might dent your confidence when that doesn’t happen.
“But he’s so young so I’d love to see him take his time and be at Chelsea for a long time because he’s got massive potential to go on and be great there.”
