Not many fans were pleased when the lineup for the game against Real Madrid was released.
See Tuchel’s line-up below
Chelsea starting line-up: Mendy; Christensen, Silva, Rudiger; Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell; Havertz, Mount; Werner.
Substitutes: Arrizabalaga, Caballero, Alonso, Abraham Pulisic, Zouma, Giroud, Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech, Gilmour, James, Emerson.
The Chelsea manager decided to start Kai Havertz ahead of Christian Pulisic, and Blues fans had wondered if the gaffer had made a tactical mistake this time.
However, Kai Havertz proved that he could be trusted on the big stage, and delivered a top performance against the Los Blancos. Pulisic joined in the second half and was also extremely dangerous.

Even former Blue Joe Cole didn’t seem so certain to see Havertz ahead of Pulisic.
“It surprised me,” Cole said on BT Sport.
“Havertz has played himself into it. I think it’s the one where Tuchel would have been sitting there, with Werner, I think he runs off the ball better than anyone in this squad.
“Pulisic dribbles and drives with the ball, but Werner is the one.
“If I’m Pulisic now, I’m raging because it’s a big game and you feel like you’re playing well.
“But Havertz is one of them, I think he’s put him centrally to come off into the pockets and to allow the space for Werner to run in behind.”
At the end, Tuchel proved again why he’s the boss, and all of his decisions have so far been gold.
