Antonio Rudiger has been in fine form in the second half of the season, and has become a mainstay in the Chelsea defence under Thomas Tuchel.

The German defender is known for his ruggedness and die-hard attitude, as he gives his all on the pitch, and he has had to wear a face mask in the last couple of games.

Rudiger actually broke his jaw in the 1-1 draw against Madrid but still wanted to feature in the second leg, as Chelsea defeated Real Madrid 2-0 to go through to the final.

Rudiger has been forced to wear a face mask in the last few games to protect his vulnerable jaw, but he still never bothers as he plays his heart out in each game.

Meanwhile, Rudiger’s current contract with the club expires at the end of next season. Rudiger was almost close to an exit after falling out of favour under Lampard in the first half of the season.

Chelsea are keen to tie the German down to a new deal, and according to Sky Sports, Chelsea will hold talks with the centre-back at the end of the season.
