Pep Guardiola felt exhausted and disappointed after his team were beaten by Chelsea 1-0 in the Champions League final at the Estadio do Dragao on Saturday night.

Guardiola has led his charges to a very successful season, with City winning the Premier League and League Cup, but the Champions League was a large call for them.

Guardiola has revealed that his next plan was to go home and be with his family after what was a very long season.

“I want to go home and be with my family,” said Pep Guardiola, as relayed by The Sun’s Martin Blackburn.

“After that I’ll come back to the club. It’s going to be the best club in the world for the next few years.”

“I want to congratulate my players on an exceptional season and on the game they played on Saturday,” he further stated.
