With the season almost at its end, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has picked his own team of the season.
The only Chelsea player that made Carragher’s team is N’Golo Kante, as no other Blue could find a way into Carragher’s star studded eleven.
Carragher went for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez in goal, as well as West Ham’s Vladimir Coufal and John Stones in his back line.
In midfield, Carragher went with Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne.
Up front, he went for Harry Kane and City youngster Phil Foden, with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min.
The Liverpool legend has now revealed that he left out Mount because of the presence of Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes in midfield.
When asked whether Mount was ever in consideration for a position in the midfield, Carragher responded by tweeting: “Yes, he was, but I had two attacking midfielders & could not have left KDB or Fernandes out.”
