N’Golo Kante will be playing in his first ever Champions League final as Chelsea face Manchester City in the Champions League final in Porto.
Just a few years ago, Kante was playing lower league football in France, before rising up to the Premier League, first with Leicester City and now Chelsea.
Kante and his Leicester City teammates had a grass to grace story as they ended up winning the Premier League title in 2016.
Kante will face former Leicester City teammate Riyad Mahrez in the Champions League final, and he has revealed that the two players have spoken ahead of the final on May 29.
Kante said in an interview with uefa: “We’ve spoken about it. We both realise that it’s exceptional. It’s taken a lot of work from before being in Ligue 2 until now, and a lot of perseverance on the pitch and in training.
“So to be playing a match like this is fantastic. But we both want to win, so we won’t be friendly on the pitch. I hope it works out for me, and he’s hoping it’ll work out for him, of course!”
