Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are reportedly threatening legal action against Chelsea and other clubs for withdrawing from the European Super League.
Eight of the 12 Super League founders have agreed to renounce the project.
However, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are however refusing to let the project die.
According to the New York Times via Daily Mail, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus have warned Chelsea and the other clubs that have withdrawn from the European Super League that they will pay millions of dollars in penalties if they walk away from the league.
The Super League was met with fierce criticism when it was first announced last month, with the plans collapsing within 48 hours due to the significant backlash it received and widespread protests from fans.
In a letter sent to Chelsea and the other clubs that have withdrawn, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus all clubs withdrawing of committing a ‘material breach’ of the founders agreement.
