Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he will be without the injured Jonny Evans for Leicester’s upcoming Premier League clash against Chelsea.

Evans returned from injury against Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday, only to be forced off in the first half at Wembley.

Asked for an update on Evans’ condition at his pre-match press conference on Monday morning, Rodgers told reporters: “He won’t play in the game. He’ll struggle for that.

“We’ll see what he’s like for the weekend.”

Pressed on whether Leicester had any fresh injury concerns, Rodgers replied: “Nothing to report at the moment.

“It’s only the second day after the game so we’ll see how they are after we get them moving.”
