Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is desperate to sign a clinical striker this summer following Timo Werner’s struggles in front of goal for the Blues this season.
Despite spending more than £220million in the transfer market last summer, the Blues have struggled to find a consistent source of goals this season.
One player on Chelsea’s transfer shortlist is Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, who is reportedly valued at around £105million by the Italian club.
Lukaku appears to have poured cold water on the prospect of returning to Stamford Bridge after admitting he is proud of playing for Inter Milan following.
The Belgium international striker helped Inter Milan clinch their first Serie A title since 2010.
He said: “I’m really proud to be an Inter player. I’ve a special feeling with this club, that’s why I decided to celebrate around the city today with our fans.”
With that said, it seems highly unlikely that he will leave the club this forthcoming summer and seal a shock return to west London, although his mind could be changed if lucrative offers were made for his services.
