Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has done his homework on Manchester City ahead of the Champions League final.
The German international has admitted that his teammates must be willing to suffer if they want to beat Pep Guardiola’s men on May 29.
Rudiger has conceded that Chelsea won’t have much of the ball, and has named four City players to be wary of. Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez are the four names Rudiger has warned his teammates about.
“City will have the ball more often than we do, we know that,” the Chelsea defender told German publication Kicker.
“But in the back row there are more or less direct duels. Every defender should have the courage to play one-on-one duels.
“Sure, Ilkay [Gundogan], [Phil] Foden, [Riyad] Mahrez, [Kevin] De Bruyne – you can’t give them all a lot of space.
“If we don’t get high into midfield pressing and play the balls to the top, then you have to work hard and, above all, be willing to suffer.”
