It was dream come true for Thiago Silva as he won the Champions League in just his first season at Chelsea.
The Brazilian reached the final last season while with PSG, only to bow out to Bayern Munich, and the veteran defender is glad that he has now won it with Chelsea.
Speaking after the victory, Thiago Silva remembered former boss Frank Lampard who brought him to Stamford Bridge.
“Without Lampard, I would not be here,” the former PSG skipper told RMC Sport.
“I am very happy, and I hope he will be too.”
The veteran defender admitted that winning the Champions is the most important moment in his career.
Silva continued: “This is the most important moment in my career.
“I am truly very happy. We didn’t manage it with PSG [in last season’s final against Bayern Munich] but today I am very happy. I hope PSG do it too.
“Each time PSG were knocked out, it was made out to be my fault. It’s a shame. I did everything I could for the team.”
