Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been flawless with his decisions since he replaced Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss in January.
However, the German tactician has made wrong decisions that have cost the Blues in our last two games against Arsenal and Leicester City.
Here are 3 players that should have started FA Cup final against Leicester:
1 Ben Chilwell
I still don’t understand why Ben Chilwell didn’t start the FA Cup final against Leicester City. Thomas Tuchel’s explanation of wanting height as the reason for starting Marcos Alonso made no sense to me.
Chilwell is Chelsea’s best left wing-back and should have started against Leicester City. Our best players should play in the final and not sit on the bench.
Leicester City are a team known to counter-attack with pace and dropping the pacey Chilwell for the slow Alonso made no sense. Chilwell proved he should have started as he made an impact when he replaced Alonso, who was ineffective.
2 Christian Pulisic
Timo Werner keeps getting chances to start despite his struggles but Tuchel always finds a reason to bench the brilliant Christian Pulisic.
Pulisic’s dribbling ability and pace was needed against Leicester City and he showed that when he was brought in the second half. It’s a no brainer that Pulisic should be a regular starter for the Blues because of his unique qualities.
3 Tammy Abraham
If Kepa Arrizabalaga deserves to start because he has been our FA Cup goalkeeper, Abraham deserved to start because his goals ensured we reached the finals.
Tuchel applying different rules to different players won’t help the squad. It’s beginning to look like Abraham’s exclusion isn’t for footballing reasons.
I am not saying Abraham starting would have changed the outcome of the game but if Kepa started, then Abraham should start. Simple as that.
