Chelsea and Manchester City have booked a place in the Champions League final at Istanbul, after beating Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain respectively to go through to the final of the Champions League.
Thomas Tuchel has totally transformed Chelsea, and has guided a struggling Blues side to become a dominant side not only in the Premier League, but in Europe as well.
Chelsea are seen as the underdogs against a Manchester City side who have been at the top for some years now.
Chelsea have already beaten Manchester City once this season, in the semi-final of the FA Cup, and Tuchel doesn’t believe that it’s an added advantage, although he admitted that it has given his side belief.
“No [it doesn’t give us] the upper hand, but it gives us a good feeling, it gives us confidence. We played the semi on the edge. They are the benchmark and we wanted to close the gap to Man City. We will need the same level of performance again. It gave us belief, because it is the highest level you can face.
“So yes, we will arrive with self-confidence and with a positive energy in Istanbul.
“With no injuries, just the positive energy to win, to be one of the participants. We want to arrive with the clear focus to win.”
