So much was expected from Timo Werner when he signed from German club RB Leipzig but the Germany international has been hugely underwhelming.

Six goals in 32 Premier League games is a disappointing return from a player who scored 34 goals in all competitions last time around.

But while Werner has struggled to score goals for the Blues, he has remained a key player for the Blues due to his ability to press and also provide assists for his team-mates.

While there’s no doubt that Werner needs to improve in front of goal, the German striker has performed better than Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino in their title winning season.

In 3795 mins for Liverpool last year, Firmino scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions, giving him a 0.52GA/90.

Werner has performed slightly better for the Blues when compared to Firmino, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists is 3337 mins, giving him a 0.57 GA/90.

While every Chelsea fan want Werner to perform better, he hasn’t performed too badly when compared to Firmino who was hailed as outstanding for Liverpool last season.
