EdenHazard has endured a torrid two-year spell marred by injury at Real Madrid since leaving Chelsea in 2019.
On his return to Stamford Bridge with Real Madrid last week, the Belgian struggled against Chelsea and was caught having a laugh with former team-mate Kurt Zouma after the whistle.
Hazard was slammed by Real Madrid fans as well as the Spanish media for laughing with a former teammate after Real Madrid had been eliminated from the Champions League.
Reports in Spain suggested Real Madrid are now willing to sell the Belgian international at the end of the season.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has backed Hazard following the incident at Stamford Bridge and has hinted the 30 year old still has a future at Real Madrid amid reports linking Hazard with a return to Chelsea.
Zidane said: “Eden Hazard has said sorry about [the Zouma incident] the other day. He did it well, it wasn’t his intention to hurt anyone.
“That’s the most important thing. Eden is a Real Madrid player and he’ll compete for Real Madrid.
“He knows what he has to do on the pitch and he’ll do it. We spoke after the game the other day, to say that he would say sorry. That’s all.
“For me, for the club, for the players, that’s all. It happened and now we have to focus on football.
“So far we haven’t been able to see the Eden Hazard that people want to see.
“I think he will get through this. It’s a complicated moment, but he has a contract and he wants to succeed here. I hope that soon he’ll show what he is as a player.”
