Germany have been knocked out of Euro 2020 after losing to England in the round of 16 clash.

Chelsea had three representatives in the German squad, with Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Antonio Rudiger all making the squad.

Werner and Havertz had contrasting reviews during their first season at Chelsea. Werner started the brighter of the two following a £47m move from RB Leipzig but ended up facing much criticism from midway through the season. For Havertz, he started the season struggling to meet up to his £70m price tag but ended up winning the hearts of the Chelsea fans with his display towards the end of last season, playing a key role as Chelsea won the Champions League.

Havertz took his club form to the Euros and scored two goals and was one of the best players for his country, while Werner couldn’t score and missed a big chance against England.

Chelsea fans have reacted to the two players following their Euro 2020 display.

@CFCAmmxr said: “Havertz is gonna be Germany’s next Özil btw, he’s winning 5 German POTYs but he’ll always be let down by his terrible teammates.”

@CFC_Matt_ said: “Havertz isn’t getting the respect he deserves, he’s 22 years old and he was Germany’s best player throughout their whole Euros campaign.

@CFCMethod tweeted: “Havertz is legitimately one of the best young ballers on the planet right now, we’re truly blessed to have him at Chelsea.”

@Kofi_CFC said: “Werner is beyond help imo, unless a miracle happens I won’t be suprised if he’s off by 2022.”

@prakash_cfc tweeted: “It was over when they started Timo Werner. Man is so so frustrating. Tuchel should do some magic on this guy.”

@CFCFanBoysid admitted: “Werner needs a lot of work. He was rightly described today as a “blurry” figure out there.”
