Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has backed Chelsea striker Timo Werner to be the player of the tournament in the European Championships this summer.
Werner is currently with the German national team after winning the Champions League with Chelsea.
Wenger backed Werner to be the best player in the European Championships despite a mixed first season at Stamford Bridge which saw him score 12 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions.
“I like the quality of his runs,” Wenger told BeIN Sports.
“I like his movement, but he’s not… we see his conversion rate with the number of chances he has.
“He’s not been good enough to say, but he will be absolutely the favourite to be the player of the tournament [Euro 2020].”
