Billy Gilmour left Scottish giants Rangers as a 16-year-old to sign for Chelsea, in a move that irritated most Gers fans.
Now 20, Gilmour is showing huge signs of maturity and is looking like the next big thing in football after former Barcelona star Xavi.
Upon his appointment in January, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel refused to send out Billy Gilmour on loan. However, he wasn’t given much play time until the final few games of the season.
Clubs are already lining up for Gilmour this summer, especially after a massive show in the European Championship where he was named man of the match in his only Euro 2020 appearance, having dominated the midfield against England.
Rangers had hoped that the club would sign up Gilmour on loan this summer, but their hopes have been dashed, with Gilmour not keen on leaving the Premier League on loan.
According to reports, Gilmour may not be available for a loan exit and if he eventually leaves on loan, he has decided that it will be to a Premier League club.
