Mason Mount was forced to miss England vs Czech Republic clash having made contact with fellow Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour.

Mount who is a key player for England, missed the Three Lions final group game against Czech Republic and has also missed training with the rest of the squad, along with Ben Chilwell.

Mount will only return to the team just before the massive round of 16 clash with Germany, and former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believes Mount will still be fit and intelligent enough to play that game.

However, Gary Neville believes it wouldn’t feel right if Mount starts against the Germans, knowing that other members of the squad had been training in his absence.

Neville told ITV: “If it was anybody else, I’d say no.

“But Mount is such a pivotal figure for Gareth, it wouldn’t be a massive shock if he played. I would say it’s 70/30 against (him playing).

“It doesn’t feel right. Having not played in the last game then not trained for eight, nine days with the team.

“It doesn’t feel right. Something doesn’t feel right. For the rest of the players: ‘Oh, by the way, this lad’s not trained for ten days, in he comes.’

“There is no way he’s going to come in on the morning of the game doing set-pieces and then play.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
