Timo Werner didn’t have the best of games for Germany in the Euro 2020 as he couldn’t find the target.

The 25-year-old struggled for form at Chelsea last season as he could hardly find the net but impressed Thomas Tuchel with his work rate and attacking displays.

Meanwhile, former Germany boss Jurgen Klinsmann has backed Werner to star for Chelsea next season and claimed that the Chelsea striker is something special.

Speaking before the England vs Germany clash, Klinsmann said: “He is something special, the speed and he is unpredictable he can put you in trouble from one second to another.

“I know that he didn’t have the best season with Chelsea, he was crucial in the Champions League. I like that from Joachim Low (he gives) the trust in such a big game.”

Werner wasn’t at his best against the Three Lions and was eventually subbed off in the second half. Can he make an impact at the club next season?
