Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri has been linked with an exit from the club for a long time now, but the Italy international has managed to stay put at the club.

The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with Chelsea, and reports have again linked him with a return to the Italian league.

The Brazilian-born Italy international made just two Premier League appearances over the course of the season, and he has slammed reports about his future as he insists that he only cares about the upcoming European Championships.

“For many months we have been talking about the market, about my return to Italy. Now I don’t even want to think about it,” Emerson told Italian media.

“Really, I don’t care: I live in the present, play the European Championship and do everything to win it.”

Emerson has been a key player for the Italian national team, and he has revealed that he is looking forward to the European championship.

“I’m living the dream of competing in the European Championship,” he said.

“It has always been my goal to get here. Now I’m at this level, but I’m not satisfied.”
