According to Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero, he would never pay €60million for Romelu Lukaku but will instead sign three promising players with that transfer fee.

Speaking to the program ‘La Politica nel Pallone’ on Italian broadcaster Rai GR Parliament, as reported by FCInterNews, the Sampdoria President said: “I say that there are incredible costs in the world of football. For example, I would never have paid €60 million for [Lukaku], I would have taken three promising players.”
He continued: “Having the big clubs with overly high salary bills, they tried to kill European football [referring to the attempt at a breakaway Super League].
“A female takes €30,ooo, a male takes €4 million. Let’s make speeches on equality.. The directors give themselves a rule and follow it, otherwise their is no market.”
