Declan Rice was a major target for Chelsea under former boss Frank Lampard, as the Blues legend saw Rice as the missing component in the Chelsea team he was building.
West Ham’s £80m valuation of Rice was the hindering block to why the move was not done last summer.
Talks of Rice to Chelsea has resurfaced again in the media, with reports claiming that Thomas Tuchel is considering a move for Lampard’s former target.
Rice has matured in his game and is now a key player for England.
Talks surrounding the talented midfielder has been making the round for months now, but Rice has now insisted that he isn’t thinking about the rumours but is rather focused on the ongoing championship.
‘I’m not lying, I’ve not seen a thing,” Rice said.
“As players it would be disrespectful to speak about it around other players.
“There is speculation about players going but the main focus at the moment is your country, trying to win this tournament. If players want to move on, that can be dealt with after the tournament.
“While we’re here, like Gareth has always said, you need to be strictly focused on what is happening here with England and whatever happens with the club takes care of itself after the tournament.”
