Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is caught up between a loan move away from Chelsea to gain more experience, or fighting for a place in a star studded Chelsea midfield.
The 20-year-old had struggled for minutes under Thomas Tuchel before being given some games towards the end of the season.
Gilmour proved on the international scene that he can impress on the big stage, as he was named man of the match in his only Euro 2020 appearance in a goalless draw against England where he bossed Mason Mount and Co in midfield.
Norwich has been strongly linked with a loan move for Gilmour, and there are greenlights that it could happen.
Gilmour’s Scotland teammate Kenny McLean has urged the young Chelsea midfielder to join Norwich, and insists that it would be beneficial to his career.
“I wouldn’t mind seeing Billy at Norwich,” he told the Daily Record.
“Billy would fit into our style of play, the way we try to build from the back.
“That suits him perfectly and getting a full season in the Premier League would benefit him.
“I’m sure he could stay at Chelsea and get minutes. But if he comes to us for a season in a good team playing in the way he wants – it’s a no-brainer.
“I don’t know where it’s at, but I’ll speak to him at some stage.
“I definitely think it would suit both parties if it happens.”
