Chelsea had been linked with a move for Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi, but the fullback is now set to complete a move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea weren’t willing to match his £70m valuation and were rather looking for a player plus cash deal for the Inter man, with the likes of Marcos Alonso and Davide Zappacosta included in the deal.
According to reports, Thomas Tuchel may have his eyes now set on Wolves star Adama Traore.
The Spain international has been in explosive form for Wolves in the Premier League, and would be a perfect fit for Tuchel in the right wing-back spot.
We’ve looked back at a statement by Jurgen Klopp back in 2019, who hailed Adama Traore as a more dangerous player than Leicester City hitman Jamie Vardy.
Klopp said back in December 2019: “He finally found his manager [Nuno Espirito Santo] who found a position for him. At Middlesbrough he was exceptional, but somebody had to give him the right information.
“[He is] a big, big talent. You would never have thought he is that young, but he is still very young, and now he has found [the right manager].
“It was always clear it would happen one day, and now it has. Good for Wolves.
“He is really dangerous. In a big space [Leicester striker] Jamie Vardy is difficult to defend, but I would say Traore is even more difficult to defend because his speed is exceptional.”
