Billy Gilmour has proven that he isn’t only a player for the future, but that he can also hold his ground in the biggest stage.
The 20-year-old made only one appearance for Scotland in Euro 2020, and he ended up being the man of the match in that game.
At Chelsea, we have seen what he’s capable of doing. He only just needs a consistent run of games to reach his best form.
Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has admitted that Gilmour is a top talent, and that the young midfielder doesn’t need too much advice.
Kovacic said: “I don’t give him too much advice, but we do talk a lot. I mean, we are together every day at our club.
“I have seen Billy’s abilities from the first time he started training with the first team. He can become a really excellent player, so it is up to him to work hard and to get better with each day.
“I am sure that, with his personality, he is going to do that.”
