Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante put in an extraordinary performance to help Chelsea win the Champions League, and the Frenchman has been phenomenal for the Blues over the years.
Kante is often seen as the best defensive midfielder in the world, but the Daily Mail had claimed someone jokingly suggested that Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is better than Chelsea midfielder Kante.
Phillips had a stunning season with Leeds and was one of their best players, but he remained humble when he heard such praise, as he disagreed that about being better than Kante.
The England international responded to the claims: “Sadly, I would have to disagree.”
Meanwhile, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hailed Kante for making marked improvement in the attacking side of his game.
“N’Golo Kante has added something to his game,” the former Gunners boss told beIN Sports.
“Before, he won the ball and he made a good pass, he was an exceptional ball winner.
“I say an exceptional ball-winner because he wins decisive balls without making a foul.
“But he is now capable of running with the ball and making a good pass in the final third.
“That’s why I am certain he is the best all-round midfielder in Europe at the moment.”
