According to Italian media outlet La Repubblica via Daily Mail, Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri is looking to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalga on a one-year loan.
The report claims Lazio are looking to strike a deal with Chelsea that would see them pay 50 per cent of Kepa’s wages.
Despite being the most expensive goalkeeper in the world, Arrizabalaga is now second choice at Chelsea behind Edouard Mendy in pecking order.
Sarri’s desire to sign Kepa comes as a surprise to many after the former Chelsea boss clashed with Kepa during his time at the club.
During the 2019 Carabao Cup final against Manchester City, Kepa refused to be substituted despite suffering with cramp.
Sarri wanted to bring on Willy Caballero, but Kepa stayed on, with Chelsea losing on penalties. Kepa was subsequently fined a week’s wages.
