The Premier League have decided the punishment Chelsea and the rest of the big six will receive for their involvement in the European Super League.

The six English sides involved in the European Super League have reached a combined £20million financial settlement with the Premier League.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal announced themselves as founding members of the European Super League in April but later backed down following protest by fans.

According to Sky News, any club which signs up to a similar project in the future will be liable to a penalty of more than £20million, as well as a 30-point deduction.

The money will go to community projects and grassroots football – not to any other Premier League clubs.
