Germany have been sent packing from the Euro 2020, after a round of 16 defeat to England.
The Three Lions defeated Germany 2-0, to end any hopes of an European triumph for the Germans.
Raheem Sterling opened the lead for England in the second half, but could have turned villain short after, as his misplaced pass gave Germany a stunning opportunity. Thomas Muller missed the opportunity to score when placed one on one with Jordan Pickford.
Muller is known for taking those chances, and everyone was surprised why he didn’t find the target.
Reacting to Muller’s decisive miss, Chelsea star Kai Havertz said: “No (he doesn’t often miss those opportunities) but all offensive players had good chances so it’s not only about Thomas it’s about everybody the whole team.
“We could’ve created more chances, we didn’t do that so it’s very tough to take that. England has a good squad, good players. We have them too of course and we are very disappointed to lose the game but we have to keep on going and it’s hard to take for us.”
