Norwich have already signed goalkeeper Angus Gunn and Kosovo winger Milot Rashica as they prepare for life back in the top flight.
The newly promoted club have been linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour, and reports now claim that they have made breakthrough in negotiations to sign the 20-year-old.
Gilmour struggled for minutes last season at Chelsea despite his talent, and had a good showing at Euro 2020 where he was named man of the match in his only Euro 2020 appearance.
Chelsea are well stocked in midfield, and the young midfielder may have to leave the club to gain exposure.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are open to the idea of Gilmour going out on loan to play regularly next season even though they see his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
Sky Sports have reported that the Scotland international has agreed to join the Canaries for the 2021-22 season, and is expected to undergo a medical following his Covid-19 quarantine later this week.
Do you believe a loan deal is what’s best for Gilmour or that he’s ready for a place in the Chelsea team?
