Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been rewarded with a new contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2024.

The German tactician became Chelsea boss in January, replacing Frank Lampard, and won the Champions League final. He also led Chelsea to a top four finish, having joined the Blues with the club ninth in the league.

Tuchel would be eyeing to break a record currently held by Jose Mourinho after extending his Chelsea contract.

Tuchel could become the longest-serving coach under Roman Abramovich if he finishes his current Chelsea contract.

Chelsea’s longest serving coach in the Abramovich era is Mourinho, who was boss for three years in his first era as Chelsea boss.

Meanwhile, Tuchel has admitted he’s happy to remain a part of the Chelsea family.

“There is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation,” Tuchel said.

“I am grateful for the experience and very happy to stay part of the Chelsea family.”
